In October, once again, Foz do Iguaçu will host the Latin-American Open Source Software Conference – Latinoware 2011. Close to 2500 people, among students, professionals and specialists in the areas, are expected for the eighth edition of the event, to be held between October 19 and 21, at the Itaipu Technological Park(PTI), located at the facilities of the Itaipu Power Plant.
Promoted by Itaipu Bi-National, Foundation Itaipu Technological Park - Brazil, State of Paraná Data Processing Company (Celepar) and the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro), Latinoware is an event that opens space for discussion and reflection on the use of Open Source Software in Latin America, in addition to promoting integration and valuing at the Latin-American level.
Like in the previous editions , Latinoware should again break the attendance record have , and more serve as stage for international celebrities and representatives of public and private agencies from many Latin American countries to present their solutions in Open Source Software.
To this end, the program for Latinoware 2011 will include lectures, round tables and workshops on themes linked to information and communication technologies, backed by the open source software systems developed in the continent.
