Thinking of environmental conservation, the organizers of Latinoware this year will attempt to significantly reduce the use of paper with the use of a data communication device. The apparatus, which is similar to a remote control and was developed by a consortium of incubated companies in the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI), will be lent to all conference participants.
   
The participants will use four buttons to evaluate talks or participate in surveys. The businessman Jairo Pastorini had the original idea. When he did not have all of the technology necessary for the operation of the product, he obtained the support of Itaipu Binacional and other companies to restructure the product and put it into practice. "Through common interests, we started to develop technology together, and we worked tirelessly to be able to debut the product in Latinoware," says Pastorini.
     
The booths will also have new technology. In each one of them, there will be a receptor installed for the participants to be able to receive information about the products and services offered by each company. “The business owners will be able to publicize their products using just one click. This will help considerably with the reduction of paper waste from folders, flyers, and other publicity materials," stated Claudio Evaldo de Souza Junior, a businessman from the environmental area.
      
Six 1.5-meter totems will also be spread throughout the location, offering touristic information about Foz do Iguaçu. The public will also be able to share information with each other. "Each apparatus is personalized with personal information related to each participant. The participants will be able to exchange this information and then access it through a private social network created for the event," says Rodrigo Pereira Fraga, one of the businessmen involved in the project.
    
So that the participants have a notion of the benefits of this ecological project, an electronic screen will be installed in the event, and will provide real-time updates of the numbers of the promoted reduction.
