VIII Conferência Latino-Americana
de Software Livre
de 19 a 21 de outubro de 2011 - Foz do Iguaçu | PR | Brasil
Latinoware 2011 will be held in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Brazil, in the facilities of Itaipu Technological Park (PTI), located in the premises of Itaipu Bi-national Power Plant.
Itaipu, currently the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world in generation of power, is also part of the city’s list of tourist attractions, located in the Extreme-West of the state of Paraná, on the border with Argentina and Paraguay. Another unique aspect of the region are the Iguaçu Falls.

The plant, which also contains Itaipu Technological Park (PTI) in its territory and, as a consequence, is also the "home" of Latinoware, is a bi-national venture carried out by Brazil and Paraguay on the Paraná River, on the stretch where it separates the two countries, 14 km to the north of the Bridge of Friendship. The area of the project extends from Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, and Ciudad del Este, in Paraguay, to the south, until Guaíra (Brazil) and Salto del Guairá (Paraguay), to the north.
